change of account name on instagram

…if I had to start all over again…

I signed up for Instagram as "STILZITAT" over 10 years ago. I wish it were a buzzword, but even Germans have difficulties understanding the name I had created for my 2011 vintage shop, which loosely translates as "quote of style."

Despite being born an artist, I bought into the introjection defense mechanism to ‚get a real‘ job. With an academic background in art history I was motivated to open an online vintage shop where I could put my knowledge to use. Fortunately I was an amateur to marketing and my ‚STILZITAT‘ vintage shop dreams successfully failed.

You know how they say that bad times become good lessons? After that, there were years where it was either do or die, but this inspired me to push even harder on various artistic endeavors. Turns out that no one can take away the love you were born to find. And art was my first love.

Fast forward many, many years and you still see my great passion for antiques and design icons. I grew up in a world where austerity wasn’t just an ornament and this has sparked my desire for quality because things have to be made well to last. Because of this, this account will always be inextricably linked to great interior design but the name ‘STILZITAT’ has to go as it only makes up a small part of who I am today.

Like many artists of my generation I am not afraid to work in one form of discipline and representation: I can’t wait to show you more…
