frequently asked questions

where can I purchase your work?

Additionally to this online shop you can find retailers in Germany, all shops are listed under locations. Please get in touch with the teams of the shops to ask for available pieces before you visit.

how long does it take for you to create a neon painting?

To create the vibrant effect the paintings require many many layers of color and water. Due to the wet-on-wet technique and the long drying period in-between the layers it can take up to 4 months to finish one painting.

do you offer prints of the neons?

No – all original neons are unique pieces and have a vibrant visual quality. They react beautifully to different lighting situations and a print would look flat and could never display this complexity.

where can I buy your illustrations?

Exclusively at The Poster Club and the retailers they list.

do you offer other frames?

The paintings in the online shop are sold as seen. Depending on the look you are going for, you can inquire a commissioned piece. The canvas is off-white and the blonde wooden frame adds up to the soft character of the paintings. A white or black frame, for example, changes the look and creates a bold impression rich in contrast.

do you offer large scale paintings?

The Sorbet series demands a special canvas which is only available up to 1 x 1m at the moment. Large scales like 80x80cm and 1x1m is highly limited and only available for commissioned works.

I work on various large scale paintings on antique linen at the moment and they will be published very soon.

what colors do you offer with the sorbet series?

The Sorbet series was originally created with neon yellow, neon green, neon red, neon pink, neon orange and apricot. Contrary to all other series, where only one of the colors is used, each apricot series is different because I mix oranges, reds and pinks.

can I buy your blue paintings?

All of the blue ones are sold at the moment but I am working on a new series in blue and mint. These will be launched soon.

what materials do you use?

Mostly I work with acrylics, ink, spray paint, vinyl paint, chalk and linen.

what canvas to you use?

The Sorbet series demands a special, unprimed canvas with a raw, matte texture. The fabric is off-white and sprinkled with tiny dark beige spots you can see on the enlarged product photos. Those add up to the depth and characteristic of the paintings.

what is a turnaround time for a commissioned piece?

Depending on the level of engagement I offer commissioned pieces. It takes around 3 to 6 months, depending on the complexity of the painting.

can I ask for a commissioned piece?

Of course, depending on the level of engagement we can work on a piece together. Commissioned pieces take a lot more time as the client is involved in every single step and communicates with the artist via email and/or via video call. Commissioned pieces have to be paid up front. The constant check-ins and the share progress allow the client to revision the piece multiple times and once approved all sales on commissioned works are final.

do you offer prints of your photography?

Most of my photography, drawings and some fine art work (the sorbet series excluded) can be offered as a print. please send your request to: info@studioanastasiabenko.com and we will figure out what size and quality we can offer.

my favorite sorbet painting has been sold, do you have similar ones?

All Sorbet paintings are unique and dry differently. But due to the complex wet-on-wet technique I place multiple canvasses next to each other to create a series. If your favorite color or size has already been sold, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, as sometimes there are still paintings from the same series drying in the studio. Here you can see 4 paintings in different sizes and intensities from one series:
